A new EIANZ fellow for New Zealand

The New Zealand Chapter congratulates Judith Roper-Lindsay, the Chapter's newest EIANZ Fellow. Judith is a Founder Member of EIANZ (having joined the Environment Institute of Australia in 1988), and was the second President of the New Zealand Chapter.  In 2010 she was the recipient of the Simon Molesworth Award which is awarded to members who have made a substantial contribution to the Institute.

Call for papers open for EIANZ's Annual Conference - Foundations for tomorrow

Our Annual Conference is an excellent opportunity to expand your horizons, challenge your thoughts, share some time with like-minded individuals and perhaps present a case study on a dynamic topic. Abstracts are sought from a diverse range of perspectives, areas of practice, research and policy. Contributions from environmental practitioners with skills, knowledge and experience that crosses the boundaries of traditional environmental practice are encouraged. Abstracts are due by 24 June 2016.

NZAIA Strategic Environmental Assessment in New Zealand: Enhancing Policies and Plans
7-9 December 2016
Lincoln University, Christchurch

This two day conference at Lincoln University will bring together speakers and submitted poster papers to address strategic impact assessment. Examples and case studies will include planning for natural hazards and adverse events, land use change and urbanisation, catchment planing, tourism and iwi plans. A training day and field visit will precede the conference.
