New Urban Development and Environmental Management in SEQ.
There are signs that the urban development sector is picking up. Greenfield housing is predicted to remain as the primary source of housing supply in SEQ over the next few years and land releases and associated services and infrastructure will be required to support these new communities.
In the next few years, where will this urban development occur, how are we planning and governing for it, and how are we going to manage the environmental impact?
Join our list of speakers to gain insight into the future of urban development in SEQ. Our speakers include:
Kylie Williams - Executive Director, Regional Planning, Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning.
Kylie is a land use planner with 20 years of experience implementing and influencing Queensland’s planning and development assessment framework. Kylie will be speaking about regional planning reform, policy development and the State Government's interests in urban development.
John Brannock – Urbis, Director
A veteran in statutory and strategic planning advice, strategy development, heritage conservation, policy review and development assessment, John is a qualified town planner and environmental management specialist with experience advising both public and private sector clients. John will touch on the state of the urban development market and where greenfield development pressure is likely to occur.
Tor Hundloe - Bond University.
Tor has been at the forefront of research, teaching and practical management in the environmental field for almost four decades. He has recently published "The Gold Coast Transformed: From Wilderness to Urban Ecosystem". Tor will discuss the environmental management issues likely to be encountered in the context of greenfield urban sprawl.
