Wednesday, May 23, 2012 - 4:00pm - Wednesday, May 23, 2012 - 7:00pm
This seminar, jointly run by the Hunter Environmental Institute and EIANZ, will be held at the UGM site, being the former Teralba Colliery, (Admin Building Training Room, 91 York St, Teralba, (just off the roundabout on Five Islands Road) (a UG coal mine site in Care and Maintenance). The seminar will be in two parts, the training and standard setting seminars initially, and tour of the newly completed mine training facility.
The Certification for Environmental Practitioners (CEnvP) is a professional recognition processs, run through EIANZ, which sets standards for individuals in the environmental industry. He will be available to answer questions on individual CEnvP eligibility and assessment. Nigel will be introduced by Michael Chilcott, EIANZ Chair.
Additionally NewSAFE, a UGM Group business, has developed an Underground mine training facility in association with the Mine Rescue Service (MRS). UGM has extensive practical, training and systems experience in UG coal mining, while the MRS has extensive experience in mine training, including virtual similation. The training facility will be used to provide training (Cert 2 etc) for new starters to the underground coal industry, and will be introduced by Brad Phillips.
A full kit out and small group walk through with trainers has been organised, including demonstraing the operational machines - registration for this tour will be required separately.
