We encourage you to attend to hear about the Victorian Division’s accomplishments and upcoming initiatives in 2014 and beyond. This is a great opportunity for those interested in contributing to our industry and we encourage all members to attend. Ian Thomas - Evolution of the Environmental Practitioner

Prior to AGM proceedings, a special presentation on the ‘evolution of the environmental practitioner’ will be provided by Ian Thomas, Associate Professor at the school of Global, Urban and Social Studies - RMIT. Ian teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate environmental policy programs, and has written books on environmental impact assessment, environmental management and environmental policy. In his research Ian has investigated the issues of embedding environmental education and sustainability education in the curricula of universities, examined the status of tertiary environmental programs, and investigated employment of graduates from these programs. His recent research has focused on capacity building of academics to support curriculum change across a range of disciplines, and the graduate capabilities that are expected by employers.

We thank Ian for his ongoing support of the Institute and look forward to an interesting discussion on the night.

The AGM will also provide the opportunity to meet Jacquie White, EIANZ General Manager. Following the AGM proceedings, Jacquie will be providing a brief overview of national EIANZ matters and an update on central office activities. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
