The Role
AECOM’s Environment group in Melbourne has an exciting opportunity for a proven Environmental professional to join our high performing team and take a leading role in driving project delivery and excellence in client-service in the Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) Team, working within the Defence client account.
Our Impact Assessment and Permitting team is made up of industry leading specialists, offering our clients expertise in environmental impact assessment, permitting, approvals, environmental planning and management, natural resources, waste, water, air quality, due diligence, sustainability and resilience planning, as well as specialty and emerging technologies.
In this role, you will help support some of the biggest and most complex projects across Australia, working with project teams to sustainably deliver successful and high-quality outcomes for Defence and the Defence industry more broadly. This will include a requirement to operate as an effective part of multi-disciplinary Design Teams, identify environmental risks, develop innovative solutions to resolve issues and collaborate with a range of stakeholders within the Defence space. You will also manage and deliver general environmental projects for Defence as required, which is likely to include working with a range of technical specialists to help improve environmental outcomes across the Defence estate. You will provide technical leadership based on your broad experience in impact assessment, environmental planning and management, stakeholder management, sustainability and resilience.
Through working closely with Defence and contractors to Defence, you will gain a clear understanding of the client’s requirements, maintain excellent relationships and will play a key role in delivering project performance outcomes. You will also help develop proposals and initiatives to successfully win new projects in the Defence space and grow the Defence business.
