A significant amount of business in Australasia are Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs). They maybe small but many are punching above their weight in addressing wicked problems. In fact, many SMEs are pioneering new business models and innovative solutions to both generate a profit and create positive social and environmental outcomes. Laurie Foon of the Sustainable Business Network will business models, such as Social Enterprises - that trade to deliver social and environmental impact. Samantha Jones of Little Yellow Bird will discuss how a Wellington based company can change a global supply chain and create wicked solutions.
Laurie Foon
Laurie Foon is the Wellington Regional Coordinator at the Sustainable Business Network. Laurie comes from a background in fashion, and her pioneering New Zealand eco fashion label Starfish was a past winner of the NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards. She looks after the lower North Island keeping on top of what’s happening, organising events and regularly catching up with local members.
Samantha Jones
Sam is the founder and CEO of Little Yellow Bird. She is a firm a believer in the idea that business is the most effective way to support people in developing communities. She continues the fight to raise awareness and improve the garment industry.
