NSW | EIANZ NSW Division 2024 AGM

We are delighted to invite all EIANZ members in NSW to the 2024 Annual General Meeting. The AGM gives us a great chance to review the year's accomplishments and an opportunity for members to participate in shaping EIANZ NSW's future. In addition to the formal proceedings from 6:00pm we will have a panel discussion from 7:00pm until 8:30pm with four eminent panellists on the 'State of the NSW Planning System'.

Nominations for NSW Committee Positions

As always, the committee warmly invites interest from our NSW members to become members of the NSW Division Committee. The opportunity exists to contribute your ideas and energy to guide the Division's activities and focus over the next year.

The term of office of all currently elected officers of the Institute will expire at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. Nominations will be called for the following positions for the period 2024 to 2025:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • General Committee Member

Only current financial members are eligible to nominate for these positions. All nominations must be endorsed by two EIANZ Full Members or Fellows.

We are also looking for anyone who might be interested and/or have the skillsets to take on the following roles in the Committee: Events Coordinator, Newsletter Coordinator and Social Media Manager.

For any questions regarding the AGM, feel free to reach out to Kevin Roberts (NSW Division Secretary, acting as Returning Officer) via email: nsw@eianz.org

To assist in managing the meeting and to obtain quorum, we ask that members register to attend. Register now by clicking ‘submit’ in the blue box below.

Panel Discussion

From 7pm, we will delve into the 'State of NSW Planning System' with our panel of experts. Our goal with this panel discussion is to assess the current landscape and explore future directions for planning in NSW, with an emphasis on environment and heritage.

Hear from four panellists with diverse backgrounds providing their unique perspectives on the planning regime:

  • Kristyn Glanville, Councillor, Northern Beaches Council | Environment & Planning Lawyer, Pikes & Verekers
  • Richard Pearson, Director, Pearson Planning Solutions | former Deputy Secretary, Department of Planning & Environment | former Administrator, Inner West Council
  • Prof Richard Mackay AM, Director of Possibilities, Mackay Strategic | newly appointed Member of the Australian Heritage Council
  • Marcus Lincoln-Smith, Principal, Ecology Matters PL | Senior Principal Ecologist, Stantec

We are eager to hear your views and insights alongside these subject matter experts, discussing ideas— from bold initiatives to practical steps—that can drive positive change in our planning practices.

This is a hybrid event where you can take part either in person or online. You can join us for both events – the AGM (starting at 6:00 pm directly followed by the Panel Discussion starting immediately after). Light nibbles and drinks provided for those attending in person. We hope you can join us!
