We are excited to share that Enviro Drinks in the South Coast will start with a presentation on the use of thermal drones and acoustic survey technology for monitoring of threatened species.
Jess Bettanin, Senior Project Officer, Koalas with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water will be presenting on the use of thermal drones for monitoring threatened species. Jess will describe the exciting work she has been involved in over the last 12 months using thermal drone technology to survey the local koala population on the Far South Coast. The use of thermal drones, and acoustic survey technology, has massively improved our understanding of the density and occupancy of koalas in the local landscape.
This presentation will segway to a future presentation on the use of AI in the environmental industry at our Summer Enviro Drinks function in December 2024.
All events will be FREE to attend and will generally be informal in tone. Kindly be aware that drinks and food are not included with registration, however you're welcome to purchase them from the venue at your convenience.
We are planning on expanding the reach of Enviro Drinks in the future and would welcome any proposals to host in other regional locations. The events may also host speakers on occasion, at the discretion of local organisers in each region.
Due to the location of these events, there will be a limit on attendees. Reserve your spot today to ensure you don't miss out.
