Webinar | Climate adaptation, the law and decision making

As the impacts of climate change increase as global warming continues, decision makers, especially in land use planning, are having to consider how their land use decisions are consistent with the need to adapt to these changes. The NELA Climate Change Working Group has completed a project that identified legal case studies where decisions by decision makers have either been challenged on the basis that adaptation to climate change have been inadequately or inappropriately addressed, or cases that support climate change adaption action.

This webinar, jointly presented by EIANZ and NELA, will present examples of these legal case studies and discuss the implications for planners and decision makers. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the outcomes of this work and suggest other legal case studied that can add to the knowledge in the climate change adaptation decision making space.

This event will run off Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) and will run for 1 hour. The webinar will be recorded and a link to the webinar will be sent to all registered attendees in the days after the webinar. NELA members please contact events@eianz.org to obtain the member rate.
