Eco Logical Australia (ELA) exists to empower employees and clients to make a difference. We pride ourselves as being Approachable Experts, who lead with science and technology to help our clients navigate complex projects, achieving the best possible outcome for them and the environment.
We are an environmental consultancy with 200 environmental experts across 17 offices. Our people are industry leaders – down-to-earth, passionate, talented, and all-round nice people! ELA works autonomously within the global Tetra Tech group, which is made up of 49 individual companies. This mix of local and global services provides our clients with the benefits of a mid-size consultancy, and the security; resources; and opportunities of a global entity.
We are committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive workplace, where everyone feels a sense of belonging and are valued and respected for their contributions. This commitment is built on our core values of Listen First, Share Your Genius, Be Courageous, and Feed the Culture.
Our recruitment practices ensure equal employment opportunities and access while our culture and strategic actions promote career growth and development in a safe and supportive environment. We also offer full-time, part-time, and flexible work options to help our people live their best lives.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is underway, and we proudly partner with CareerTrackers to provide meaningful career internships for First Nations university students.
That’s what truly makes us… more than just an environmental consultancy.
With a growing pipeline of work, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Associate/Principal Ecologist to join the Melbourne team. You will have the opportunity to work on interesting and diverse projects, delivering innovative environmental management and conservation solutions to our clients. Our clients and projects are continually growing – particularly in the renewables, resources and conservation sectors.
You will serve as a technical expert, offering guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Your knowledge of threatened species and ecological communities in the region will allow you to lead high-quality assessments and contribute to innovative environmental management solutions. You will be responsible for developing methodologies and protocols, planning and leading field surveys, and ensuring technical excellence in project delivery.
This role will allow you to combine your passion for ecology, environmental management, legislative knowledge, and leadership skills to create high-quality work and great outcomes for our clients and the environment.
To be successful, you will have:
An opportunity to shape your dream job plus a competitive remuneration in addition to a range of other benefits including workplace flexibility, professional development, opportunity to purchase up to 2 weeks of additional leave, an employee stock purchase program (NASDAQ TTEK), genderless 12 week paid parental leave, salary sacrifice into super, and health and wellbeing initiatives. Oh, and let’s not forget the birthday leave benefit (that’s right, you get an extra day off on your birthday!).
If you are an Australian citizen or resident, or have permanent working rights, are seeking a supportive and professional organisation where workplace culture is highly valued, and where you will be given the opportunity to chase and lead exciting projects, with the support of a great team, get in touch!
Please forward your application (including a cover letter addressing the above criteria) to our People and Culture team, via email recruitment@ecoaus.com.au
Closing date: Friday, 2 May 2025
