The Role

As Principal Environmental Planner/Scientist, you’ll manage major projects, lead environmental assessments, and drive business development while managing and supporting your team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading planning approvals, including EISs, DAs, SSDs, REFs, and more.
  • Providing technical advice and solving complex environmental issues.
  • Delivering high-quality project outcomes that meet company standards.
  • Building strong client relationships, with a focus on business development.
  • Leading and mentoring the team, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and career development.
  • Managing project resources and budgets effectively.
  • Leveraging technology to innovate and advance the business.

About You

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or Environmental Engineering.
  • 8-15 years’ experience in waste management, circular economy, infrastructure, resource recovery, industrial, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Proven expertise in EISs, DAs, SSDs, REFs, and environmental planning pathways.
  • Strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and graphic.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in client engagement, people management, and mentoring.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • CENvP REAP certification is desirable.
