Prof. Claudia Baldwin has made diverse and significant contributions in environmental management and planning, across a career spanning Commonwealth and Queensland government employment, university leadership in teaching and research, and environmental consulting. She is particularly known for her contributions in collaborative and inclusive approaches to water and natural resource management, disaster risk reduction, coastal planning and management, and climate change. She is equally recognised for innovative methodologies in her research, and consultation with communities.
Claudia has been actively associated with EIANZ since its early years, especially as a Board member, then Associate Editor and book review editor of the Institute’s journal, the Australasian Journal of Environmental Management, for the past two decades. As a widely influential thought leader, practitioner and teacher in environmental management, Claudia is a worthy addition to EIANZ’s Fellows.
We acknowledge and value the rights and interests of Indigenous Peoples in the protection and management of environmental values through their involvement in decisions and processes, and the application of traditional Indigenous knowledge.
