All EIANZ members and CEnvPs are required to comply with the EIANZ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (Code). Practitioners are expected to practice in accordance with the Code and accept personal accountability for their professional conduct.
The Code is central to sound environmental practice and the credibility of the profession and commits practitioners to:
Changes to the Code to incorporate Indigenous knowledge, values and rights came into effect on 1 December 2021.
A copy of the Code, guidance notes, and resources to help our practitioners work within the revised Code can be found below.
We acknowledge and value the rights and interests of Indigenous Peoples in the protection and management of environmental values through their involvement in decisions and processes, and the application of traditional Indigenous knowledge.
