Dugal McFarlane has been an active, committed, and passionate member of the Institute for 21 years predominantly in the ACT. During this time, he has held positions as committee member, National Councillor, Vice-President, and President of the ACT Division.
Dugal has worked tirelessly to run and coordinate events for members, raise the Institute’s profile and attract increased membership in the ACT Division through the organisation of numerous events and seminars each year and the development and implementation of a Mentorship Program.
Dugal has also contributed strongly to the Institute-wide initiatives over many years. As National Councillor, Dugal contributed to the Institute’s programs such as Learning to Adapt, the Code of Ethics and the development of its new governance arrangements, as well as promoting the Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme through the vetting of candidates within the ACT. Dugal also took a leadership role as co-convenor of the highly successful National Biodiversity Offsets Conferences held in 2019 and 2022. Dugal is a worthy recipient of EIANZ Fellowship.
