Nathan Garvey FEIANZ CEnvP

Nathan is an experienced ecologist with over 20 years’ practice in leading ecological assessments and approvals across eastern Australia. Nathan has delivered projects across a diverse range of sectors including mining, oil and gas, linear infrastructure, renewable energy and residential development. He has extensive experience in biodiversity assessment and approvals, including biodiversity assessment for major projects and EPBC Act referrals, and has worked on large-scale projects such as Snowy 2.0, Hunter Transmission Project, Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro, Clarrie Hall Dam, Dungowan Dam and Mole River Dam.

Nathan is one of NSW’s leading experts in biodiversity approvals and offsetting. Nathan has exhibited sound judgement in the evaluation of planning issues and development impacts of many controversial and complex projects. His depth of knowledge, evaluation capacity and explanation of complex matters is essential in this field of work. Nathan is appointed as a Panel Member on both the DPHI Independent Expert Advisory Panel on Mining and the DPHI Independent Expert Advisory Panel on Energy Transition.
