Rod Welford has demonstrated exceptional and sustained leadership in the environment profession, government and industry across Australia for over 25 years. After establishing his own consulting firm, Integrated Resource Planners in 1996, he went on to pioneer a wave of environmental initiatives and reforms as both a Queensland Government Minister and a national environmental policy advocate.

Overseeing the establishment of one of Australia’s most innovative EPAs; representing Australia at the UN Sustainable Development Commission; leading the Australian Council of Recycling (ACOR) and a transnational professional practice in energy management serving some of the largest resource industry companies in the world; Rod has ably demonstrated significant influence and impact on environmental policy and practice in multiple domains across industry, government and academia, and has willingly contributed to EIANZ in important professional roles.
