Travis has extensive experience in ecological assessment and management, in strategic and impact assessment roles, vegetation classification, biodiversity offsetting and through major project delivery. Travis prepared the landmark publication The Vegetation of the Central Hunter Valley, NSW which provides expert knowledge of the distribution and conservation status of vegetation throughout the Hunter Region. It also, importantly, led to the comprehensive listings of threatened ecological communities and flora in the region.
Further to this, Travis prepared the Hunter Bushland Resource Kit which provides a practical guide to planting, establishment and management of native vegetation. His substantial experience in developing comprehensive biodiversity offsetting strategies for large developments, together with the application of ecological mine rehabilitation is particularly comprehensive and invaluable. Travis is appointed as a Panel Member on the DPHI Independent Expert Advisory Panel on Energy Transition.
