Mark is a Principal Ecologist and strategic planner with over 30 years' experience in ecosystem management, statutory planning, and ecological research in New Zealand and the Pacific. He has worked in private practice as an advisor and consultant to central and local Government and private clients. He has been an Environmental Planning lecturer at Auckland and Massey Universities. He has worked in the environmental NGO sector in New Zealand as a planner and programme manager for national non-government organisations, as well as being appointed to a number of government and ministerial advisory panels. Mark has worked with Hapu and Iwi organisations for the protection of the marine environment and wild rivers, and with local communities on environmental restoration projects.
Mark’s ability to facilitate and form strong and enduring relationships amongst key stakeholders is a hallmark of his practice and his influence on environmental outcomes. As an environmental practitioner, Mark has achieved a sustained record of leadership, contribution and influence within the environmental sector in New Zealand.
