Students undertaking degrees accredited by The Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand are eligible for free membership of Australasia's peak body for environmental professionals.
The Environment Institute is part of a global network of more than 100,000 environment professionals. We provide practitioners with networking opportunities, access to environmental job listings, and the opportunity to make a difference. The Institute represents members from a diverse range of technical disciplines including environmental scientists, policymakers, engineers, lawyers, and economists. Our members are at the forefront of complex issues such as climate change, sustainability and preserving biodiversity.
QAS Student membership has a number of benefits including:
Fully-subsidised QAS Student membership is designed to support students in degrees accredited through The Institute's Qualifications Accreditation Scheme (QAS), which recognises quality qualifications in environmental science, environmental management, and other fields that contribute to environmental practice.
All you will need is a copy of your student card, evidence of your enrolment in a QAS degree and evidence of your current or continuing study (screenshots suffice).
Students do not pay an application fee. QAS Student memberships expire on 28 February each year. To renew your membership, you will need to provide us with your updated student details prior to membership expiry.
Once you have completed your studies you will be eligible for a subsidised Transitional Student membership, so long as your QAS Student membership has not lapsed.
Student members do not have voting rights and cannot use a post-nominal.
To find out more about QAS student membership or confirm eligibility, please contact EIANZ Central Office on membership@eianz.org or +64 9887 6972.
