The EIANZ Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 30 October 2015 at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth. There were over 40 people in attendance, which is a great turnout early in the morning after the Gala Dinner. EIANZ President, Jon Womersley, presented the Institute's Annual Report, highlighting some of the important achievements of the year, including the implementation of governance changes, step-change improvements to financial and member systems, delivery of outstanding member services and events, and engagement on environmental policy with governments across Australia and New Zealand.
The Treasurer, Bryan Jenkins, presented the 2014-15 financial statements and reported on the finances more generally. He outlined the challenges and opportunities of the past year, and noted the work of Central Office staff, Divisions and Chapters, and the actions taken by the Board, to improve the financial position of the organisation as a whole.
The results of the 2015 Board election were declared at the AGM by the Returning Officer, Nicole Brown, and an election was held at the AGM for the position of Secretary, as no nominations had been received.
The Board members elected for the 2015-2017 term is available here.
The President welcomed new Board members, thanked outgoing Board members, and thanked Nicole Brown for her work as Returning Officer, including overseeing the successful implementation of the electronic voting system.
The AGM also considered and approved an amendment to the Rules of Association, to include the Certified Environmental Practitioner scheme. The President thanked all volunteers, staff and contractors of the EIANZ, and thanked members for their attendance and engagement.
