EIANZ forms exciting new partnership with AELERT

Published 4 March 2025

The Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Australasian Environmental Law Enforcement and Regulators neTwork (AELERT).

The partnership will connect EIANZ members and certified practitioners with AELERT’s internationally recognised and respected professional regulator network, which is hosted by the Australian Commonwealth Government via DCCEEW and includes over 250 member agencies.

As the environment profession grows, EIANZ & AELERT share a commitment to promoting best practice in environmental management and regulation. This partnership creates a formal framework for collaboration on policy advocacy and the development of guidelines and other resource materials, as well as professional development and training.

As part of a reciprocal arrangement, EIANZ members will gain access to discounted rates on select AELERT events.

EIANZ President, Vicki Brady FEIANZ CEnvP, said:

“Strong environmental regulatory frameworks and practices have never been more important, and EIANZ and AELERT each have essential important roles to play in promoting best practice throughout the profession.

We are thrilled to be working with AELERT on common goals to benefit our members and the environment profession across the region.”

AELERT CEO, Gregory Abood, said:

“We are proud to formally partner with the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ). We look forward to new opportunities to strengthen the connection between regulators regulatory and non-regulatory practitioners within the broader environmental profession  in Australia, New Zealand, and overseas, as we are better together!

Our partnership with EIANZ is a stepping stone for greater collaboration and innovation in 2025 that will build and better recognise regulatory practitioner and leader capabilities in impact assessment, climate change and contaminated sites.”
