Do you have the passion, enthusiasm, experience and skills to lead EIANZ's Climate Change Special Interest Section (CCSIS)?
An expression of interest for the position of Chair of the CCSIS is currently open.
EIANZ's CCSIS has been active since 2010. It has been notable in setting up the world’s first climate change certification scheme for climate change practitioners, successfully running a Learning to Adapt training program across Australia, revising EIANZ’s Climate Change policy and increasingly advocating with governments for a professional approach to managing climate change.
The CCSIS Executive comprises five portfolios:
Each of the portfolios are represented by one sitting member and one alternate member, as well as a small working group who assist with actions and achieving outlined goals. The CCSIS Executive meet at least monthly by teleconference and report to EIANZ. All members of the CCSIS Executive team are passionate about delivering real results to tackle climate change and to make a difference.
Your role would be to lead the CCSIS. Leadership skills are sought and preferably climate change experience and/or certification as a Certified Environmental Practitioner or equivalent. Typically, at least 5 hours commitment per month will be required. You would also be the CCSIS's representative on the Advisory Council. The Advisory Council meets by teleconference approximately six times a year and has one face to face meeting.
To express your interest in this role, please send a short biography highlighting your leadership skills and experience for the role together with a supporting CV by 28 April 2017.
For more information or to express your interest, please contact Simon Cavendish, Acting CCSIS Chair, via email simon@enviropartners.com.au. If you have any questions, please call Simon on 0417 611 445.
