How and why did you get involved in the EIANZ?
I have been involved in EIANZ since 1999 when I initially graduated with my graduate diploma of science in Protected Area Management from James Cook University. As a graduate just entering the environmental professional space, it provided networking and technical information to assist me in keeping abreast of information but also access to a broader network of professionals from different disciplines to inform my development.
We acknowledge and value the rights and interests of Indigenous Peoples in the protection and management of environmental values through their involvement in decisions and processes, and the application of traditional Indigenous knowledge.
