Policy and practice - we need your help!

Published 1 September 2016

There are two great opportunities to contribute to the Institute’s leadership on environmental policy and practice. Firstly, the Policy and Practice Committee is calling for volunteers to assist with reviewing and updating the Position Statement on Public Environmental Reporting over the next six months. Secondly, we’re keen to hear from members on upcoming government policy announcements and other items that you think the Institute should have a say on, such as through putting out a media release or developing a submission. To get involved, contact the Policy and Practice Committee via policy@eianz.org

Call for volunteers – review of the Position Statement on Public Environmental Reporting

The EIANZ’s Position Statement on Public Environmental Reporting is quite out of date, having been developed in 2001. It is available on our website here →

The Policy and Practice Committee is seeking volunteers to assist with reviewing and updating this Position Statement. We’re looking for nominees to form a working group of about 3-5 people who have experience in public environmental reporting. The working group would provide a revised and updated draft of the Position Statement to the Policy and Practice Committee by 31 January 2017. Working group participants would earn CPD points for their involvement.

Got your finger on the pulse? Let us know!

In our work, we often hear about important policy developments or upcoming government initiatives that the EIANZ should consider contributing to or commenting on. Frequently, the timeframes for getting involved, such as through making a submission or making public comment, are short. So, the Institute’s Policy and Practice Committee is keen to hear from you if you’ve come across something that we should get involved in. Send your tips to policy@eianz.org and try to include links or relevant background information, and let us know if you or any members you know would be willing to contribute.
