Our industry has seen a lot of change in a relatively short time. But what’s coming next?

Over the past 12 months, we’ve examined the short-term challenges facing our rapidly evolving profession. It’s now time to come together, review next steps, and ready ourselves for the next stage – and the one after that.

To help us envision a way forward, delegates will be briefed on the most important takeaways from each of EIANZ’s recent marquee events including our Impact Assessment Symposium, National Biodiversity Offsets Conference 3.0, Nature Positive Cities Symposium, and our two Transport & Ecology conferences. We will also reflect on outcomes and lessons from the first ever Global Nature Positive Summit, to be held in October.

We’ll bring our learnings together to find multidisciplinary solutions to complex problems. How do we balance the competing priorities of renewables with those of cultural heritage and biodiversity? Which of our industry’s systems and processes will soon be obsolete? How do we meet growing demand for environmental services while maintaining best practice?

We’ll dive into a comprehensive range of critical topics, including:

• Evolving the environmental profession
• Emerging technical challenges
• Innovations in sustainability
• Improving social and environmental impact assessment, and post approval management
• Approaches to achieve nature positive and beyond.

* Early bird conference fees will be valid until 30 August 2024. All conferences prices are charged in AUD (inc GST).
We have secured a number of accommodation rooms at the W Sydney, at a discounted rate for conference delegates. The booking link will be sent in your registration confirmation email.
*Day delegate registrations, tickets to the welcome function and networking / awards event can be purchased separately by contacting events@eianz.org. EIANZ Student member prices do not include attendance at the welcome function or the networking / awards event.

Submission guidelines

If you are interested in submitting an abstract, please prepare a brief abstract and submit via the link below by 2 September 2024.

Abstract specifications

• Abstracts must be no more than 300 words
• Biographies must be no more than 300 words
• Authors must supply a photo

Abstracts and biographies may undergo editing before being published in conference materials and on the EIANZ website. We aim to advise authors whether their abstract has been accepted by Friday 6 September 2024. Successful applicants will be required to register for the conference.
